Who we are

Arctic Story House (arcticstoryhouse.com) is operated by Einar, based in Húsavík, Iceland. For any privacy question, email info@arcticstoryhouse.com.

What this site collects

arcticstoryhouse.com is a static website. It doesn't have user accounts, and it doesn't ask you to submit personal information anywhere on the site itself. With your consent (see "Cookies" below), we use:

• Google Analytics — to see general traffic patterns (which pages are visited, roughly how many people, which country). This relies on cookies and gives us aggregate statistics, not your name or identity.
• Google Ads and Meta (Facebook) Pixel — to measure whether our ads are working and, where enabled, to show ads to people who've visited the site. These set cookies and share some browsing behavior with Google and Meta.

None of these tools load until you accept the relevant cookie category in our cookie banner.

Cookies

We use a cookie consent tool (CookieYes) so you can choose which categories of cookies to allow. Categories used on this site:

• Necessary — required for the site and cookie-preference storage itself; always on.
• Analytics — Google Analytics; helps us understand traffic. Off until you accept.

International data transfers

Free downloads

Posters, coloring pages, and story PDFs are downloaded directly from the site with no sign-up or personal information required.

The Store

When you click "Get it in the Store" or similar links, you leave arcticstoryhouse.com and land on our Shopify store. Any purchase, payment, shipping address, or account you create there is handled entirely by Shopify under Shopify's own privacy policy and security practices — we don't see or store your payment details.

Children's privacy

Arctic Story House publishes content that children enjoy alongside their families, but this website is not directed solely at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact info@arcticstoryhouse.com and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export the limited data we hold via Google Analytics/Ads or Meta, to object to or withdraw consent for its use, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Because we don't collect data directly (it's collected by Google/Meta's tools, and by Shopify for purchases), the fastest way to exercise these rights is directly with Google, Meta, or Shopify, or by emailing us and we'll point you the right direction.

Data retention

We don't hold a database of visitor data ourselves. Analytics and advertising data is retained according to Google's and Meta's own retention schedules, which you can review in their privacy policies linked above.

Third parties

Aside from Google (Analytics and Ads), Meta (Pixel), and Shopify (purchases), this site doesn't share information with anyone.

We may update this policy as the site or its tools change. The date above reflects the latest revision.
